RICArts – Russell Island Community Arts Association Incorporated
Russell Island Community Arts, more fondly known as RICArts, is a not for profit community arts association situated on Russell Island, a part of the beautiful Southern Moreton Bay Islands. RICArts is nestled amongst the attractive avocado orchard of Kennedy Farm at the end of Robert Street, (opposite the school) on Russell Island. The farmhouse building and immediate surrounds, is now called The Farm, Art House & Gallery.
Our ‘not for profit’ group has a passion and energy for the arts, helping and working closely with our local community offering friendship and support to all. We enjoy the support of Redland City Council as we develop an exciting art venue. We now have our new Pottery Shed, open for business with thanks to Redland City Council, Redland Foundation and Qld Government.
RICArts meet at the Farm, Art House & Gallery every weekday morning from 9.30 – 12.30. Entry is via Robert Street, Russell Island which is off High St, opposite Russell Island State School. Creative sessions currently include pottery on Monday & Friday; Art in any medium on Tuesday; Craft in any medium Wednesday; Mosaics on Thursday, plus Patchworking on Monday.
Our gallery boasts a new display of works updated every three months where you can view the artworks of talented Bay Island artists. All artists can display in our gallery, subject to terms and conditions.
Members love to explore with a wide range of mediums from pencils, charcoal and pastel to acrylics, oils and even wax, folk art, face paint, beading and mosaic. If you can draw it, paint it, glue it or melt it, the band of RICArts members love to create.
